the heart of Montréal.

In 1992, Curtis and Marney spent their honeymoon in Montréal and the Laurentians, further adding to the growing romance in them for the province of Québec and its people. For eight more years, the dream incubated as they developed their ministry, gained experience serving on the team with P. Mel and Heather Mullen of Word of Life Centre Church and Ministries in Red Deer, Alberta. Then, in October of 1999, God spoke to Curtis, “It’s time, go to Montréal.”

Small beginnings…from a home cell group in May of 2000 to a fledgling church of 25 in its first summer, we have grown to a healthy congregation numbering 200.

Through various locations, summer picnics, meeting many new people, hosting conferences, partnering with other pastors and churches in the city, Word of Life has become the thriving church it is today.
We are a life-giving church in a province that desperately needs life, joy, and encouragement. Our music is energetic and positive, inspiring passionate worship and increased faith. Our message is relevant and contemporary, applying the timeless principles of the Bible to 21st Century Living. Our vision is broad and large: to develop and to build great people, a great city church, developing influential leaders who impact every sphere of society, locally, provincially, nationally, and in the nations of the world! Our community is vibrant and friendly, always open to the next guest who walks through our door, and we promise you will…

…leave church feeling better than when you came in.

The first seeds were planted in the summer of 1986, when Curtis attended a summer French Immersion program in Trois-Rivières. Passing several weekends in Montréal, something stirred, and the awareness was birthed that one day, this city would be home. Waking up the very first morning in Montréal, to the sound of church bells, Curtis wrote a song that signified the planting of the seed for the call of God: “I hear church bells ringing in
